Why

 

Yesterday, we had a wonderful planning meeting for Kidsave.  The goal is of course to bring as many kids here as possible to help them find families.  And that takes a lot of work, and frankly, a lot of money.  But it is all worth it. Why?

A Kidsave “alum” came to the meeting yesterday, determined to help us out in any way possible- she had ideas, was calling organizations for sponsorships, and was giving feedback on how kids feel when they are here.

And the she told us part of her story.

We listened to her talk about how she was a self-described “mean girl” in her orphanage in Colombia…. and how she felt like nobody would ever want her.

And then hearing the excitement still in her voice when she talked about finding out she was going to be adopted and the love of her family.  And it was so clear to us all how much she has blossomed into a beautiful, caring, intelligent, self-assured young lady.

That is why.

Because EVERY child deserves a family.
